Amina
Figarova is a globetrotting Azerbaijan-born, Rotterdam-based
composer-pianist-bandleader with more than a dozen recordings
to her credit. She is without doubt one of the most
productive accomplished jazz composers, and heartfelt
jazz pianists in Europe today. Her work ranges from
mainstream-progressive, to avant-garde, to funk fusion,
to classic post-bop, all the while proving that music
is her natural language. Her recent concerts reveal
a measured, graceful, and touching piano style that
easily compliments her intricately relaxed ensemble
writing. An artful compelling cosmopolitan performer,
Amina Figarova has graced jazz stages throughout Europe
and in Tunisia, Israel, Bahrain, United Arabs Emirates,
Azerbaijan, Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia,
and South Africa.
